A typical day at SPIRIT varies for each camper based on the
sports and practice schedule they choose. Campers put their practice schedule
together on the first day of camp. Once chosen, they attend the same practices
for a two-week period.
Games with neighboring camps, inter-camp scrimmages, and
campers vs. coaches games begin on the fourth day of Spirit. Any camper
playing in the game attends the game on that given day and, therefore,
does not attend her scheduled practices. Our basketball, softball, soccer
and volleyball teams have games with other camps. We also host a lacrosse
and field hockey clinic.
In addition to our athletic programs, our days at SPIRIT
are filled with a variety of other activities that keep our campers extremely
busy.
Note: The Monday of the second
and fourth weeks of our program are camp trip days. Campers travel to
an amusement park with a water slide.
A day in the life of a SPIRIT camper...

7:30 a.m. - Wakeup |

Each morning begins with a friendly wake-up knock on
the door from camp counselors. |

8:00 a.m. - Breakfast |

Girls gather in our dining hall for a healthy breakfast
before heading out to the athletic fields. |

8:45 - All-camp warm-up |

To ensure that the girls are all properly stretched,
all the campers gather together for daily warm-up exercises.

9:00 a.m. - Morning sport practice sessions |

After the 8:45
all-camp warm-up, everyone is off to participate in three separate morning
practice sessions until we break for lunch at noon:
Campers in 2nd and
3rd grades and 4th and 5th grades (our freshman squad) practice together
in two sport sessions followed by swim strokes instruction and pool games
6th and 7th graders
(junior varsity squad) participate in three sessions for their chosen
sports
8th to 10th graders
(varsity squad) practice participate in three sessions for their chosen
sports

12:00 p.m. - Lunch |

Lunch is back in the dining hall where the girls can
replenish and get ready for their afternoon sessions. When its a hot day,
many campers often gather together on the hillside under the shady trees
to relax before the afternoon sessions begin. |

Activities vary daily. Swimming, arts and crafts, challenges
(non-competitive games and personal development discussions, skits and
activities), advisor/advisee group meetings, camp sister activities, 3
v 3 tournaments, varsity workouts, rock climbing, hiking, in-line skating
and individual help sessions are among the offerings.
Note: Both day and evening
activity periods are predetermined by the coaching staff. Sometimes a
choice is given, sometimes the campers are divided into groups, and sometimes
everyone participates in the same activity. |

3:00 p.m. - Afternoon sport practice sessions |
